Hafsa MOSSI, Minister to the Office of the President Responsible for East African Community Affairs
Mrs Hafsa Mossi was born at Makamba Commune and Province of the same name in 1964.
- From 1971 to 1977, she attended her primary school at Makamba.
- She attended the secondary school respectively at Buye Secondary School (1977-1981) and Rubanga Secondary School (1981-1984) where she obtained the Certificate of complete humanities studies in 1984.
- From 1984 to 1987, she made her graduate studies at the School of Journalism.
Professional Experience
- From 1987 to 1990, she worked as a Journalist for Burundi National Radio and Television (RTNB).
- From 1990 to 1993, Journalist and Head of the Kiswahili Section at RTNB.
- From 1993 to 1997, she is a Producer Journalist at the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) and Correspondent for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and Deutsche Welle (Voice of Germany).
- From 1998 to 2005, Producer Journalist at the BBC.
- In 2005, Senior Producer at the BBC.
- From 2005 to 2007, Senior Press Officer in Communication and Spokesperson of the President of the Republic of Burundi.
- From 2007 to 2009, Minister of Information, Communication, and Relations with the Parliament and Government Spokesperson.
- From January 2009 to August 2010, Minister for East African Community Affairs.
- Since August 28, 2010, Minister to the Office of the President Responsible for East African Community Affairs.
Political Experience
She is an active member of the National Council for the Defense of Democracy-Forces for the Defense of Democracy (CNDD-FDD), the Ruling Party and elected in her constituency (Makamba Province).
